Lincoln-Way North High School students and staff came together Friday, Jan. 19 to recognize a group of students who have excelled in the classroom and on the athletic field.
“It is a great situation to be in to have so many talented students,” stated Dr. Michael Gardner, the principal at North.
“They have taken their role as students seriously and have performed well,” he added. “It is a pleasure to recognize these deserving students.”
Among those recognized at the pep assembly were the school’s 85 PSAE All-Stars, 69 Illinois State Scholars, its four bridge building contest winners and 15 winter play cast members. Also recognized were the school’s winter athletes, including the boys’ and girls’ bowling teams, the boys’ and girls’ basketball teams, girls’ gymnastics, boys’ swimming and boys’ wrestling.
In between introductions, students were treated to performances by the school’s pep band, cheerleaders and poms.
