Area residents are invited to enjoy a profusion of dance styles as the Lincoln-Way East Orchesis dance club presents “Under the Stars” on Feb. 1 and 2.

“We have a very talented group of girls this year,” said Julie Widinski, the Orchesis director at Lincoln-Way East. “Their dedication and hard work have produced a very entertaining show.”

Students have been preparing for the two-night show for several weeks now and plan to feature a variety of dance styles centered around a starry night theme. They have titled their show “Under the Stars.”

“We have selected love songs from the ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s and today,” said Widinski. “The dancers will perform all styles of dance from hip hop to ballet.”

More than 50 Lincoln-Way East High School students are involved in this year’s show. They include: Lauren Bird, Deonna Bolden, Victoria Butler, Heather Butler, Chloe Cahill, Megan Conry, Mary El Costin, Kathleen Czyzewski, Samantha Dunlap, Alex Dworakowski, Alexis Frazier, Brittany Galifos, Kate Garcia, Abby Gerstenkorn, Lexie Handley, Alicia Hernandez, Yerandi Hernandez, Tyler Huber-Massey, Sophie Hunter, Liz Jones and Olivia Jones.

Other performers are Annie Kroen, Kaylee Lambert, Renee Liden, Ashley Manor Courtney Matheu, Mia Mayes, Demitra Mitilinakis, Lauren Mueller, Desiree Muth, Brittany Nice, Rachael Norris, Torrey O’Connor, Zaria Orr, Peyton Pazera, Magdalena Plis, Holly Podborny, Nicole Radkay, Kelsey Radomski, Kylie Rogers, Alexa Rojas, Jessica Slater, Sarah Speechley, Olivia Stewart, Jessica Sylvester, Staci Tepper, Grace Tervin, Paige Turner, Lindsay Tyler, Gabby Valencia, Megan Wharrie, Emmanuel Willis, Alaina Wittrock, Karly Zimbauer, Stephanie Zuccato and Natalie Zyskowski.

“Under the Stars” will be performed at 7 p.m. Feb. 1 and 2 in Lincoln-Way East’s Fine Arts Center at 201 Colorado Ave., Frankfort. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students.
