Kindness With a Toy or Two

A couple of years ago, our family had an experience with Children’s Memorial Hospital and the oncology ward. It was very luck for us that everything was going to be so positive. There was very much guilt tied along with the results since so many others would have loved to be in our shoes. Since our time there we have gathered toys and crafts for the oncology floor as thanks for their amazing work and the families that have to spend so many moments of their lives there. There is nothing you can do to take the pain away from those children or families but the time during treatments can be a little more enjoyable through donations.

Trying to continue to make a difference with the family there was an announcement at my son’s school that T.E.A.M. Asset was looking for toys and items that can be used in the treasure chest, a chest of toys and prizes that can be selected from after a chemotherapy treatment or a difficult appointment.  Anytime we get a happy meal we try and keep the toy wrapped to use for a donation so we combined those toys with some others to make a donation to the school to pass along to the organization.

I want these acts to continue and to grow in our community and around the world if possible. Many people do things everyday and to share our stories help to pass the torch to others to run with it and think of new things to do and say to share kindness and smiles.

"No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted."
