Frankfort’s Hickory Creek Middle School students recently participated in the Illinois Elementary School Association Scholar Attitude program. The program is sponsored by the IESA and supports the values of sportsmanship, ethics and integrity.
The following requirements apply: eighth grade status, minimum 3.5 grade-point-average for both seventh and eighth grade years, participation in at least one IESA sport/activity during each of his or her junior high years and demonstration of outstanding citizenship during their tenure. The IESA is a not-for-profit organization of public and private grade, middle and junior high schools. More information about the program is at www.iesa.org
Hickory Creek students were nominated by their teachers. The school then chose one student from the nominees to be submitted for the IESA Scholar Attitude award. The student selected to represent Hickory Creek is Julia Chillon.
Along with Julia Chillon, school nominees also included Ololade Ayoola, Sidney Bloomfield, Elijah Kuli, Konrad Shirley, Allison Plourde, Michaela Mitchell, Kim Seper, Jake West, Sebastian Khattabi, Dylan Murphy and Kelli Arseneau.
