My first ever blog......WOW!
First, I guess I have to introduce myself. As you can see from my blog post, my name is Dave Izzo. I am a 13-year resident of Tinley Park and the Lincoln-Way area. I am married (26 years) to a wonderful woman, Regina, and I have two grown children. Both my children are graduates of Lincoln-Way East High School.
My daughter, Rachael, is a 2010 graduate of Purdue University and works for Aramark as a restaurant supervisor at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois. My son, David, is a 2009 graduate of the United State's Air Force Academy. He is currently a 1st Lieutenant working with the 38th Cyberspace Engineering Group based out of Scott Air Force Base in Shiloh, Illinois.
I am currently serving on the Will County Board, representing the residents of District 2. I was appointed to the position in November 2011 after serving as a board member for the Lincoln-Way High School District 210 for six and half years. My term expires November of this year so I am running to fill the seat that was vacated when Laurie Smith retired from the Will County Board.
I work for Nationwide Insurance Company as a Regional Attorney. I manage 4 in-house law offices in Illinois, Indiana and Michigan. In addition to the above, I am also a Admission Liaison Officer for the United States Air Force Academy. In that role, I assist young men and women who seek to be accepted to the Academy who want to be officers in the United States Air Force.
What I hope to accomplish with the blog is to keep you informed on Will County matters, provide some information about myself from time to time, and to submit stories about some of the interesting people who live, work or go to school in our area.
I am looking forward to “blogging” on a regular basis and hope you all will blog me back as well.
