White Street Market to Host Fall Pinterest Party
50 Shades of Fall will take place this weekend and will feature easy-to-make seasonal crafts.
White Street Market will bring crafting into the 21st century this Sunday, when the Frankfort home décor shop hosts 50 Shades of Fall, its first ever Pinterest party.
The event will feature 50 handcrafted Pinterest-inspired projects and recipes, which partygoers can view and interact with in a live gallery. Attendees will receive a list of all 50 projects when they arrive.
The live gallery projects will be available for purchase at the end of the party. After the event, however, attendees can also opt to receive crafting instructions and recipes from White Street’s Pinterest account, so they can make the projects themselves.
“In this economy, sometimes people feel they have to skimp on things,” said JanaLee Wiechers, who is the marketing coordinator and home stylist for White Street Market. “But these are really good examples of how you can still get in the spirit of the season.”
Framed fall leaves, monogrammed pumpkins and a Halloween wreath are among the projects included in the live gallery.
Wiechers specified that the featured projects are relatively inexpensive to make and that most of the necessary supplies can be purchased at any craft store.
There is no cost to attend the party. Instead, White Street Market, which recently changed its name from White Street Interiors, asks that guests bring one food item to donate to the Frankfort Township Food Pantry.
The party will include a tasting of several Pinterest recipes, including pumpkin coffee cake, crispy prosciutto cups with pear and honeycrisp apple sangria.
“We’ll all have a fun afternoon,” said White Street owner Vickie Hansen. “It’s nice to have an outlet for creativity.”
50 Shades of Fall will take place from noon to 5 p.m. at White Street Market.

Sounds like fun and a wonderful marketing opportunity! It’s so exciting to see how many companies are integrating Pinterest into their marketing strategy and how effective it is. I was primarily using Facebook and Twitter for my business for awhile and was a little bit hesitant about jumping on the Pinterest bandwagon. But after coming across so many resources about how awesome it is, it’s been a tremendous help to my biz. An excellent Pinterest Influencer Network I’ve come across that’s been really helpful worth mentioning is PinLeague. Just wanted to pass the word along. Thanks!
