A precautionary boil order is in effect for residents on Evergreen Drive between Nebraska Street and Sauk Trail after a water main break Wednesday, village officials report.
Residents are urged to boil their water for five minutes before using it to cook or drink, a village press release stated. The order is only a precaution, and residents affected by it--a minimum of 24 houses, according to the release--will be notified by the village when the order is lifted.
No details were released on how the water main at Evergreen Drive and Nebraska Street was damaged.
