TUESDAY, MAY 29

Thorton Man Faces Traffic Charges

Keith M. Durkin, 31, of the 200 block of Water Street in Thornton, was charged with using a wireless phone in a construction zone and driving with a suspended license after a traffic stop around 12:30 p.m., near the intersection of Lincoln Highway and Pfeiffer Road. He was released on bond, and his next court date is July 3.

MONDAY, MAY 28

Reading Texts Leads to Accident

Lance Hosman, 19, of 200 block of Elm Street, was charged with traveling too fast for road conditions and reading texts while driving after an accident in the 17000 block of South Haas Road in Mokena. According to a Will County Sheriff's Office report, Hosman lost control of his vehicle, flipped it into a ditch and hit a utility pole. He was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox with non-life threatening injuries, the report stated.
