The first ever Mariano’s Fresh Market location in the south suburbs will open its doors at 6 a.m. Tuesday morning in Frankfort.

The upscale grocery store offers the specialty items of an organic health foods store and the variety of a big box grocer.

The new location will include a trail mix bar, sushi bar, coffee bar, extensive organic produce section, international food section with 3,000 items and a myriad of sit down and takeout hot food options.

Mariano’s has the potential to enhance the quality of the community and draw development to the village, according to Village Administrator Jerry Ducay.

But will the new kid in town get your business?

Answer our Patch poll and tell us whether you’ll be buying your groceries at Mariano’s after the store opens or shopping at another local grocery store.

Mariano's is such a great store. I am so glad we have one in our area now. I cannot wait for it to open tomorrow. I have been very disappointed in some of our local grocery stores for a long time. They overcharge and the customer service is very bad. This new store is a nice change for our area.

You didn't list Brookhaven as one of our local supermarket options. It's a great place to shop!!

Agree, Brookhaven has some great speciality products that you would never find at Dominick's, Jewel or Aldi. And, they have really great csutomer service. Big oversight by the Patch. I'm assuming that they based it totally on grocery stores strickly within the village boundaries - - - but that is not how people shop. They also omitted Berkot's too - - - but their locations are a bit further away.

My husband was lucky enough to get a job with Mariano's and he cannot be more impressed with the people, top to bottom, attention to detail and their number one commitment -CUSTOMER SERVICE. He's been VERY impressed with their treatment of their new employees, their commitment to the customer and wait till you see the prices!! (Add double-coupon Wednesdays, and it should be a hit!)

Their customer service is top notch. They actually wait on people and have no self checkouts. They are also so good to their employees. The benefits are amazing.

I would like it if they had some self-check outs. But extremely impressed with the customer service at ALL the other department/stations. Usually only have help in the deli & bakery sections at other stores. But they have friendly people at every station happy to help and customize anything you wanted. Blown away by the selection and amount of different brands, produce, meats, seafood, cheeses and wines they have. Hope its not just a grand opening experience and stays like this forever.

Here is my humble review....

Awesome Store, I am sooo excited about this store! I went shopping there on 3/7, of course the place was mobbed and hard to slowly browse, but the specialty depts just blew me away. Krakus ham everyday price is $3.49 lb, unheard of! The Chicken and Dumpling soup is just amazingly delicious! Pair it with the delicous fresh baked Asiago bread and you have a perfect winter meal.

I can't wait to go there on a weekday after the masses die down and just quitely browse the store. So impressed that they will grill free of charge your meat/fish/poultry purchase, if you wish you can eat it there! One man told me he plans on buying a steak and having them grill it and eat it there with some sides at a table in the atrium.

Wednesdays, double value coupon day on up to 5 coupons, with a $25 purchase. I also found their prices to be in line with all the other local stores. I am worried about the future of our local stores, I think the only way for our local stores to stay competitive is to have some great sales!
