New Lenox Man Faces Pot, Traffic Charges
Timothy C. Mercede, 24, of the 100 block of Pottawatomie Lane in New Lenox, was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana, driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance after a traffic stop in the 9300 block of Lincoln Highway. Mercede also was arrested on an outstanding Will County warrant and booked in to Will County Jail. He was released on bond.
Frankfort Man Charged Over Booze, Traffic Offenses
Patrick J. Hearne, 18, of the 200 block of Sherlock Street, was charged with speeding, illegal transportation of alcohol and possession of alcohol by a minor after a traffic stop near the intersection of 104th Avenue and Laraway Road. Hearne's next court date is Aug. 9.

Traffic Stop Leads to Alcohol Charges for 2 Joliet Men
Gerardo Aguado, 21, of the 900 block of East Washington Street in Joliet, was charged with driving under the influence, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content over 0.08, obstructing and delaying traffic, driving without insurance and illegal transportation of alcohol after a traffic stop near the intersection of LaGrange and Laraway roads. Irwin J. Lopez, 20, of the 1700 block of Henderson Avenue in Joliet, also was cited for consumption of alcohol by a minor during the incident.
Worth Man Faces Retail Theft Charges
Kevin R. Schaffrath, 23, of the 10800 block of South 76th Street in Worth, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft and battery after an incident in the 19900 block of LaGrange Road. Schaffrath was released on bond, and his next court date is Aug. 3.
