Child Hit by Car in Frankfort Square

The child was transported to the hospital following the accident.

 

A child was transported to the hospital after being struck by a car Friday afternoon.

The car hit the child, who was riding his or her bicycle at the time of the accident, at 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of 80th Avenue and St. Francis Road, according to Sean Fierce, a battalion chief with the Frankfort Fire Protection District.

The child sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Franciscan St. James Health in Olympia Fields.

Will County police initially responded to the accident and Frankfort police assisted. Roads were closed for 15 minutes following the crash in order to process the incident and transport the patient.
