New Lenox, IL: The Lincolnway Special Recreation Foundation is holding a Candlelight Bowl to benefit the special needs recreation center planned for New Lenox. The event will take place Sunday, March 11th, 2012 from 5 to 9pm at Laraway Lanes in New Lenox, 1009 West Laraway Road. This event features an evening of family fun including dinner, doubles bowling, shoe rental, raffle drawings and silent auction.
Registration for the Candlelight Bowl begins at 5pm and includes a buffet dinner provided by Papa Joe’s featuring house salad, roast beef sandwiches, mostaccioli, and fried chicken. Tickets for the evening are $30 per person or $160 per lane of 6 people and are available by calling (815) 464 - 2811 or going online at http://candlelightbowl2012.eventbrite.com.
Raffle prize opportunities include free lessons at the School of Rock in Mokena, $25 and $50 Restaurant Gift Certificates to many local restaurants, brunch at the Odyssey Country Club, Zanies Comedy Club tickets, passes to Arlington Race Track, gift certificates including: Haunted Trail's, Fleckenstein's Bakery and many more! There will also be the drawing of the special New Year’s Raffle with a grand prize of $2000 that is now available at the LWSRA office. The silent auction will include signed memorabilia including a Tom Hanks “Forrest Gump” signed picture, Al Pacino “Scar Face” signed picture, and a Dale Earnhart Jr. signed picture provided by the Autograph Store Charity Fundraising.
All proceeds from the Candlelight Bowl go towards the construction of the LWSRA recreation center for individuals with special needs in Mokena, Frankfort, New Lenox, Peotone, Manhattan, and surrounding communities. The LWSRF was formed in 2008 to facilitate the needs of the Lincolnway Special Recreation Association which has served individuals with disabilities for over 35 years. After receiving a $2.5 million grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources LWSRA will build its facility on 5.6 acres of Heather Glen Park off of Laraway and School House Road. The site is provided by the New Lenox Community Park District.
